Department for Control of Legitimacy of Work is consisted of two divisions:

• Division for Monitoring and Control of Legitimacy of Work
• Division for Monitoring of Using of Coercive Means

Division for Monitoring and Control of Legitimacy of Work

• Monitors, conducts and provides police units with professional help on legitimacy in work and regularity of application of police authorizations, legitimacy, behavior, police officers` personal appearance, and proposes regulations and appropriate record keeping on these police affairs
• Directly determines facts in serious cases of violation of police authorizations
• Controls work of secretariats, adjusts, directs the work, provides police units with professional help, and conducts other activities, that are assigned to the Division.
• Monitors and controls legitimacy in applying authorizations of police members, especially by using of coercive means, arrest, custody, providing assistance to other federal authorities and institutions
• Monitors and analyzes assaults on authorized police officers and their criminal and legal protection.
• Proposes specific record keeping and ways of information, takes part directly in determination of facts in cases of exceeding and violation of authorizations, and in assaults on police members in which police member is badly injured or killed.
• Provides analyses, writes reports, information and other documents on these activities.

Division for Monitoring of Using of Coercive Means

• Analyzes submitted reports concerning use of coercive means and proposes the estimate of necessity of using of coercive means. In all cases whenever the checking is estimated necessary, the Division plans and conducts it
• Analyzes tactics of police officers when using of coercive means and proposes solutions in order to improve professional and legal acts on use of coercive means
• Provides monthly information on using of coercive means (kinds, consequences and measures taken)
• Keeps unique record of filed reports on using of coercive means on secretariats and by types of the means. On the proposal of chief of the Division, Division analyzes reports, and delivers them back to the new procedure or updating 
• Keeps record of reports in cases where a coercive means were used, with or without consequences, as well as evidencing of deadlines for delivering documents
• Monitors and controls legitimacy in applying of coercive means and tactics in police members actions
• Proposes regulations for record keeping and informing methods
• Participates in determination of facts in cases of violation and abusing of authorities, as well as in assaults on police members, in which police member was badly injured or killed
• Provides analyses, reports, information and other documents on the above mentioned affairs, and conducts other affairs that are assigned to the Division
