“Bezbednost”, a theoretical and professional magazine of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, was founded in January 1959, as a bimonthly issue. Today, “Bezbednost” publishes papers in the field of criminalistic, police and security sciences which have not been published before. It is a quarterly of national importance with the circulation of 1000 copies.
The magazine presents theoretical and professional papers reflecting the best police practice. The magazine is conceived to allow the exchange and observation of theoretical and technical information, instructions and procedures relevant for performing police duties. Also, the magazine provides an opportunity for presenting and raising the professional and scientific competence of the authors working or preparing to work at university educational, scientific and research institutions, or of those preparing and delivering police training programs for vocational training and professional development, based on the principles of adult learning.
The magazine has an important role in raising the level of security and self-protection. The magazine also publishes papers dealing with history of security services and authorities, translations of foreign papers and reviews of new scientific and professional publications.
Detailed instructions for writing and submission of papers are published in each issue of the magazine. In 2009 the magazine “Bezbednost” celebrates its 50th anniversary. For that occasion, in addition to the regular issue, publishing of a theme anniversary issue is planned.
