The Police Academy was founded in 1993 in Belgrade, as an institution performing scientific and educational activities relevant for security and police affairs. The Academy had three main activities: (1) education, (2) scientific research and (3) publishing. Upon completion of the basic four-year studies, a university degree was obtained and the title of “graduate police officer”, while upon completion of master studies lasting for two years, the academic title of “Master of the Criminalistic and Security Studies” was acquired. Basic, applied and developmental research were done at the Academy, in the field of criminalistics and security. The Police College and Police Academy integrated in 2006, giving the Academy of Criminalistic and Police Studies.
