The Basic Police Training Centre in Sremska Kamenica became operational in 2007. The purpose of basic police training is to provide quality education for uniformed police officers of general competence that would meet the needs of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and society in general, in accordance with the Police Law. Basic police training is delivered following the principles of adult learning in small groups. The teaching process involves application of the latest teaching methods which allow adults to be directly involved in the learning process. The Centre trains men and women who have completed four-year secondary schools. Surrounded by the latest teaching and accommodation environment, the first class of students successfully completed the training which lasted from 19 November 2007 to 5 December 2008.
